We’re excited to welcome all Wyoming County Schools students back for a fantastic new school year starting on August 22! Due to a recent clarification regarding state policy, we will not be able to use our previously planned staggered start. All K-12 Students will begin on August 22. We apologize for the short notice and truly appreciate your understanding as we ensure compliance with state guidelines on the requirement of 180 school days. Mullens Elementary School rolled out the red carpet for the grand finale of Staff Appreciation Week with a VIP Luncheon fit for the stars—and our staff were the headliners!
From the moment they walked in, our team was pampered by the best in the business: our incredible 4th Grade Student Council members! Dressed to impress, they served as top-tier wait staff, charming hostesses, and mocktail-slinging bartenders.
The service? Impeccable.
The atmosphere? Five stars.
The appreciation? Overflowing.
We couldn’t have asked for a better way to wrap up the week!

Mullens Elementary School students and staff were presented with the Exemplary Practice Award today. MES is one of 3 schools to receive this distinction in WV this year. Jordan McBride, coordinator at the West Virginia Department of Education, proudly presented the banner to MES. We are so proud of the teamwork that has gone on to make this achievement possible. Bus 165 will deliver Elementary and Middle School students on Tracy’s Mountain and will be approximately 30 minutes late.

In order to provide our students with the opportunity to experience a historic moment in Charleston, we will not have school tomorrow, March 20, 2025, as we take pep buses to support our athletes on this incredible journey!

Wyoming County Schools will operate on a 3 hour delay on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. Safe travels back and forth to support this historical time for Wyoming County! Cheer loud and proud for our student athletes!
🎉 HUGE NEWS, Wyoming County! 🤩 We're so proud to announce that both our Westside and Wyoming East boys basketball teams have earned their spots in the STATE TOURNAMENT! 🏀🏆 Due to this incredible achievement, there will be NO SCHOOL on Tuesday, March 18th!
This is an incredible moment for our community, and we want to see the entire county show up to support these talented athletes! Let's pack the stands and cheer our teams to victory!

Mrs. Houck & Mrs. Lusk are bringing fresh strategies from the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Conference straight into the classroom! 📊📖
This week, their 4th graders tackled word problems using the “Read 3” strategy—a powerful approach they learned last month at #NCTM. 🤩🔢
With this strategy, students are strengthening their problem-solving skills and becoming math thinkers 🧠💡. Way to go, Mrs. Houck & Mrs. Lusk! 👏🏼
